Hello,
I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone again this year and hope to see some new faces also, we have some great things planned for 2010 that I think everyone will like. The officers and board members have been working really hard since the show in September to get ready for the 2010 season, we will again offer ABRA, AQHA, NSBA and open classes. We have also decided to add a Walk-Trot Challenge for this year. There has been a few rule changes for this year so be sure to read the full newsletter and check the website for updates on everything new for 2010. This will be the first year for us to have a awards banquet. It is February 27, at 2:00 pm, at Lucky J in Carthage, MO. I would love to see everyone there so that I can relax and visit with everyone without a horse show going on.
I have not been showing the last couple of years but I do have a new horse this year and I sure hope he gets broke to ride before the season is done. I will at least be showing halter this year. So no one can laugh when my horse does not get worked and he acts like a total goof in the middle of a class.
If you need stall reservations or have any questions feel free to give me a call at 620-704-0160. My phone is always on and everyone knows I can talk on the phone.
Talk to you later.
Tina

We elected new officers and board members at the 2009 September show. You can see who all of your new reps are on the web site. We are very excited to have 4 youth reps this year....Chaney Scott, Kevin Crawford, Nathan Jones, and Hayden Murphy. I think they will have some fun things planned for this show season.
Speaking of youth.....we are offering a free Youth Class day on Sundays, at each show, this year. To be eligible the free youth class, the youth must show the same youth classes on Saturday to receive them free on Sunday. So, for example, Susie shows ABRA youth halter and AQHA youth showmanship on Saturday. She receives those two classes only for free on Sunday. If she does an ABRA or All Breed All Day fee on Saturday, then she will not be charged for any ABRA Youth or All Breed Youth classes on Sunday. AQHA Youth classes are included in this offer, however, we do not currently have an AQHA All Day fee. We would really love to grow our youth classes this year, so tell everyone!
Have you heard about the Color Breed Bonanza in Cedar Rapids, IA? The dates are Feb 5 - 7 and March 12-14. The web site is http://emghorseshows.com/index1.htm to see the show bill and get more info. It will have ABRA/IBHA/Pinto/PHBA/APHA/ ApHC approved classes. Heart Of America Buckskin Horse Association has partnered with this club and will allow points earned in the ABRA classes at both of these shows to count towards our Year End Awards. You must become an HABHA member by our show on March 27 & 28 for the points Color Breed Bonanza points to count.
$1000 Lucky J Bail Out!!!! For every class you enter at the March and June shows you will be entered into a drawing for a chance at two $500 cash prizes. So the more classes you enter, the better your chances. We will draw both names at the September show. You must be a member of HABHA, and exhibit in and be present for the drawing at the September show to be eligible.
The Stallion Service Sale is in full swing. We have got some awesome stallions to offer this year. If you have not checked them out yet, go to http://www.heartofamericabuckskin.com/SSS.html . If you know someone who is breeding their mare this year, make sure you tell them about it.
The show bill should be on our web site in the next few days. We have made a few changes, so make sure you check it out. Some of the major ones:
1. We decided to leave the All Breed classes at $5 per judge ($10 per class)
instead of lowering the fee, due to rising costs of putting on a horse show
2. The class Buckskin Color has been dropped
3. The All day fee for ABRA and all breed will be limited to one horse/one exhibitor
ABRA horses may still cross over to the all breed classes on their all day fee.
4. Year End Awards will be tabulated on a one horse/one exhibitor point system
5. Hunt Seat classes will now go first and begin at 8:00 am, with Halter classes to
follow
6. AQHA classes will NOT run concurrently with All Breed classes this year. They will
be separate classes.
7. We will no longer be offering cattle classes
I hope I have not forgotten anything. Please check the web site for details. www.heartofamericabuckskin.com
We are going to have some great year end awards for 2010. All Around winners will receive a belt buckle. We will also have class awards. If you know anyone that would be interested in sponsoring a class, year end award, or jackpot/futurity class, have them contact Shelly Hartzell/Gage at sgage4@yahoo.com . Or they can call her at 417-335-1115.
Well, I think this has gotten long enough. Hope to see you at the Awards Banquet on February 27. HABHA will also have a booth at Horse Fest in Springfield, MO on March 12-14. And of course, I'm looking forward to seeing everyone at our first show March 27 & 28. Get your stall reservations in soon!
Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions,
